As each ladybird and leaf are made and painted by hand some variations can occur but I try and get the ladybirds to match as closely as possible. Ladybirds or ladybugs are marvellous creatures and I love to see them in the garden. Did you know the collective name for ladybirds is Coccinellidae which has its roots in Latin meaning scarlet. The spots indicate which species it belongs to as opposed to how old the ladybird is. The term Ladybirds is commonly used in the UK and Ladybugs in the USA.

The rainbow striped butterflies are 2 x 1.2 cm in size. I will send your earrings in a gift box. All parcels are posted via Royal Mail using a tracked and signed for service first class. I hand make each pair and current making times are 10 – 14 working days from time of ordering.

When I make the polymer clay butterflies, each colour is rolled out and placed onto a backing layer of red clay. I cut the butterfly shapes out by hand and then bake to cure the clay. Placing the cutters so that you get all the colours included in your earrings takes time and patience. The earrings are a slow made item.

Once baked, cured sanded and drilled I hand paint layers of varnish to protect and seal the hearts before joining with silver plated jump rings and attaching to sterling silver ear wires. This gives the final effect a fabulous glossy and elegant finish to the final look of the earrings. The blue and gold heart shapes are backed with a layer of black clay.

The triple heart earrings are approximately 5 cm in length. Your earrings will be sent to you boxed and posted via Royal Mail first class tracked and signed for service. Current making times are 5 – 7 working days from time of ordering.

The triple heart dangle earrings are part of a small batch of a clay sheet I make by hand. These are essentially slow made fashion items as the process takes awhile to condition the polymer clay before I can even chop and blend the colours together. I have various time lapse videos on my Facebook and Instagram pages that show various stages of work in progress of the various colour combinations I work with.

This means I can only cut out a limited number of pieces and then that particular colour and pattern is gone forever. Giving you a unique item of jewellery for you to wear with pleasure as no two pieces will ever be identical and all part of the joy of owning a hand crafted item. I may repeat the colour mix for a future collection but the pattern will end up being different to this particular collection.

Each section of the moon phase is cut out by hand and backed with black clay before curing, once cooled it is sanded, drilled and sealed with layers of varnish to protect and add a glossy shine and elegance to the finished product. The individual moon pieces are joined together by silver plated jump rings and then attached to a silver plated chain.

The total length of the necklace is approximately 20 inches and has an extra 2 inch extension chain added at the end to allow you to wear this gorgeous hand crafted necklace longer or over chunkier layers making this a wonderful and versatile item of jewellery that can be worn at any time of the year. The blue and gold patterned moon sections are approximately 2 cm in size at the widest points. I only make a small size finished clay slab from which I cut out the separate parts, the final pattern is unique to the small amount of jewellery pieces I can cut out from that particular slice and this means that no two items will be identical and part of the charm of owning a hand made item
